Driving around the back roads of Nova Scotia a few years ago, the rich patina on the hull of this charming little boat caught my eye.
You could see someone was putting their heart and soul into making it sea worthy.
The fact that it was on wheels made me wonder if they were planning to push it downhill right into the 'drink'.
I don't remember where I was when I came across this charming little cottage, but it stopped me in my tracks! Being a frustrated black thumb gardener myself, I was over-whelmed by the lushness and spectacular array of climbing roses and assortment of flowers of every type. My husband groaned. "More work for me."

Sturbridge, MA - I was paricipating in an art show there and while driving to the show, passed this lovely garden.
The light wasn't quite right in the morning but later that afternoon I went back and took some photographs to use in my studio.
The pink Cosmos against the gray clapboard and mullioned windows just gave me a thrill.
Memory fails me of where I came across this striking cottage, probably one of the little towns along the east coast, but I clearly remember, "I would move here in a nano second!"
Who can possibly be so lucky to live in this ideal place? Laundry hanging always adds to the mystery and the sailboat on the right, just waiting for a lazy day of sailing. Could ilife get any better?

What can I say about why I did this painting...charm! Walking around the streets of Taromina in Sicily every corner had something an artist would want to paint.
Textures and colors were everywhere. It was a feast for the eyes.
During the afternoon we were surprised to find most of the stores and restaurants shuttered, but at dusk, a whole new world emerged in Taromina.
Restaurants, shops...everything came alive and the most elegantly attired people were seen strolling along the streets. It was magical.
